Smart About Salt Training
The Smart About Salt Council is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting freshwater from winter salt applied around facilities. Their innovative training program focuses on ways to improve winter salting practices on facility grounds. This training program has been developed specifically for Owner/ Operators and their staff of winter contracting companies who apply salt, plow or shovel snow around facilities.
When you apply what you learn at a Smart About Salt training program, you will have the skills to be more efficient with your salt, along with the tools to reduce your liability and maintenance costs.

New format field day with morning research plot tours, an opportunity to meet current University of Guelph turf students and an afternoon lunch/golf networking event at Victoria Park Valley Golf Club. The optional lunch and golf industry networking event costs $50 (payable to Victoria Park Valley GC) and includes lunch, golf and cart. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ontario Turfgrass Research Foundation to support future turfgrass research.
