Urban Forest Petition

The following has been shared by the Ontario Urban Forest Council.

As approximately 80% of Canada's population reside in our Villages, Towns and Cities. Our families reap many benefits from the trees in our communities that are funded primarily through municipal taxes.

Please consider signing an on-line petition in support of NDP MP Irene Mathyssen’s Urban Forest Motion – M536.  The Motion calls on the Government of Canada to adopt a plan to bring people and all levels of government together to protect and grow Canada’s urban forests for future generations.  You can access the petition at http://petition.ndp.ca/urban-forests
