Want to host an ISA Tree Climbing Championship??

The International Society of Arboriculture, Ontario Chapter (ISAO) holds the Ontario Tree Climbing Championship (OTCC) in a different host location throughout Ontario every year.

The OTCC Organizing Committee is looking for future locations to hold this very exciting competition. This event is free to the general public and offers fun for the whole family. If your municipality or community is interested in hosting a future OTCC event, please email info@isaontario.com for a list of the ISAO’s OTCC Host Site Requirements. The OTCC Committee would be happy to visit the proposed site(s) to evaluate the trees and park amenities.

If you would like more information on this event, visit the ISA Ontario website at www.isaontario.com/ or contact the committee chair Julie Tucker at

Smart About Salt Training

The Smart About Salt Council is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting freshwater from winter salt applied around facilities. Their innovative training program focuses on ways to improve winter salting practices on facility grounds.  This training program has been developed specifically for Owner/ Operators and their staff of winter contracting companies who apply salt, plow or shovel snow around facilities.

When you apply what you learn at a Smart About Salt training program, you will have the skills to be more efficient with your salt, along with the tools to reduce your liability and maintenance costs.

If you are an Owner/ Operator, meaning you own or work for a winter contracting company, apply salt, plow or shovel snow around facilities then Register Here for the Smart About Salt Operator Training Program.

If you are a Facility Manager, meaning you supervise contractors or staff who apply salt around your facility or you manage winter maintenance contracts for your property, then you want to Register Here for the Smart About Salt Facility Manager Training Program.
