Requirements for Application:

  • At least 2 years of parks and open space industry experience
  • OPA member in good standing
  • Hold current WHMIS & Standard First Aid training certificates
  • Attained 6 OPA education credits (see list below)

  • Invasive Species Workshop
  • Seasonal Equipment Training
  • Refresher Chainsaw - Applicable to those who have completed the OPA Two Day Chainsaw Safety Awareness training

  • Chainsaw Safety Awareness (Two-Day)
  • Parks Operations and Maintenance
  • Spray Pad Practitioner Training
  • Trails Specialist Workshop

Courses worth 3 credits

  • Managing & Maintaining Your Sports Turf Infrastructure
