Horticulture Supervisor, North Parks

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Section 5 (QVP/Kingsbridge Park/Rapidsview/Dufferin Islands) and within established policies, procedures and guidelines; oversees, supervises, and assists in the maintenance, planning, preservation and development of North Parks.  Ensures sound horticultural practices are implemented and adhered to, high level of customer service is maintained, operating safely, efficiently and profitably and meets or exceeds the acceptable standards of the NPC management and Commission. This position requires working in inclement weather,on weekends, and shift work.


Possesses a three (3) year Horticulture diploma. Extensive knowledge of horticultural practices, procedures and grounds maintenance.  Must hold a Valid Landscape Exterminator Pesticide License and Valid Class DZ Driver’s License is an asset; willing and able to obtain CSA playground Inspector certification. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations. Minimum of three (3) years leadership experience in horticultural maintenance working with large equipment in a unionized workplace, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to deal with the public with tact and courtesy, and ability to work from plans and digital construction drawings.  

Niagara Parks offers a salary range of $63,150 to $75,470 annually as well as a comprehensive benefit and pension plan.
