The City of Brantford Parks and Recreation Department requires a Coordinator of Parks Services to assist their Design and Development team. The Coordinator of Parks Services is responsible for facilitating new park development and park improvements; preparing request for quotations; administering contracts related to landscape construction; monitoring expenditures for capital and operating projects; and responding to community inquiries. The Coordinator of Parks Services will also assist with the development of policies and procedures, and provide ongoing monitoring of and updates to the park inventory and related GIS database.
Applicants must have a college diploma in landscape design or equivalent program in architecture, civil engineering or related field as well as a minimum of three years’ experience working in a parks environment, landscape architectural firm or landscape construction company. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to prepare landscape design drawings and planting plans as well as construction drawings and contract specifications. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service related to working with residents and community groups. Candidates will also exhibit a proactive, positive attitude and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, AutoCAD and GIS are essential. The incumbent must be able to work unscheduled hours as required to meet various community needs. Applicants may be required to undergo skills assessment testing.
SALARY RANGE: $54,246 to $67,807 per annum plus benefits
