You will assist the Parks Supervisor with all aspects of year-round horticultural and parks operations including planting and cultivation of all plant material, irrigation systems, washroom maintenance, waste collection, cemetery operations, special events, and winter control operations. You will be responsible for weekend and peak season holiday operations and assume the role of the Parks Supervisor in his absence. Your qualifications include the completion of a three-year program at a community college in horticulture or the equivalent with a minimum of four years' related year-round horticultural and ground maintenance experience. You must possess or be willing to obtain a landscape exterminator licence. You must also possess a Class G driver's licence. Supervisory experience, knowledge and experience with horticultural equipment, and familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other pertinent regulations are necessary. Good physical fitness is required for performing all aspects of horticultural and parks maintenance work. You must be willing to work weekends and holidays with varied and irregular hours.
Rate-of-pay: $23.91 to $29.05 per hour
(40-hour work week)
