What is Yardstick?
The Yardstick benchmarking program provides management, financial and planning information for parks, open space and facilities managers.
Why Attend the User Group Meeting & Information Session?
If you are a current project participant, this is your opportunity to review the results of the project for the past year, discuss the implications of these results, and take part in discussions regarding potential enhancements and refinements for next year’s benchmarking. And new this year, you also get to showcase one of your parks or facilities that you think everyone should see. Share with the rest of the group a 5 minute virtual tour of your pride and joy!
If you are not a project participant, see if you can answer any or all of the following:
- How many hectares of parkland do you provide per 1000 residents?
- What is it costing you per hectare to provide this level of service?
- How many playgrounds do you provide per 1000 children and what are they costing to maintain?
- How many street trees do you provide per kilometre of road, and what is your annual expenditure per street tree?
Were you able to answer all, or at least most of the questions above? If not, don’t worry, you are not alone! Most members of the Yardstick project had the same problem, until they started benchmarking. Now they are able to confidently respond to those, and many other questions, while providing quantifiable data to support their claims!
Join us to learn about Yardstick, see for yourself how the project works, and speak with current participants to find out how Yardstick has proven to be of value in their municipalities. It is yet another webinar, but it’s one you will be glad you attended!
