In honour of Canada's sesquicentennial anniversary, our Annual Floral Display Competition will focus on Canada 150 displays this year. This annual contest is your opportunity to showcase the horticultural talents of your municipal parks staff so find your best display and show off!!!
For this year's competition we have just one category - Canada 150 Displays. And each municipality can enter one display, yes, JUST ONE display, that represents the incredible horticultural talent of their parks staff. So be sure to select your municipality's number one most impressive, stop and stare in awe, "Holy moly that is awesome!" Canada 150 display. Your entry can be a small garden, large garden, median or boulevard planting, container display, floral art, you name it ... the only restriction is that it has to be a display that celebrates Canada's 150th anniversary.
Check out the participation instructions and then get busy trying to find the display that you think will absolutely wow the judges!
Contest participation instructions:
The winning display will be announced Thursday, August 17th at the Landscape Ontario/University of Guelph Trial Gardens Open House in Milton. Displays will be judged on: presentation, colour, balance & symmetry; Potential for long term display; Quality of maintenance; and for BONUS POINTS - Use of unusual plants that make a nice show but are a little out of the ordinary (i.e. not the usual petunias or begonias).
